FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Well 2012 is here and we have started compiling a music programme to see us through the year. New Year's Eve was a huge success and we are pleased to be able to tell you that Wille and the Bandits are coming back to play for us again in April.
Our first event this year is on
Friday 27th January
A return visit from The Monkey Gland Blues Band who were highly entertaining when they played in July last year.
Wednesday 1st February
Hot Club du Square - James Goodwin and Peter Shields with gypsy jazz instrumentals and Swing Era songs. This event starting at 8.30 pm
Friday 17th February
Becky Mills and Patsy Matheson come highly recommended. Formerly with the band Waking the Witch they are now touring as a duo and we are really looking forward to their performance
Saturday 17th March - Paddy's Day -
It's here again and this time we are being joined by The O'Marleys from Exeter. A first for this local band at The Ring O' Bells but I am sure not the last
Saturday 31st March
Full Moon Fever
Another first for us but recommended by one of our regular customers who heard them play at a local wedding. I am sure we will not be disappointed. We certainly were not and will look forward to having them back.
Friday 6th April - Good Friday
Ewan McLennan - a solo guitarist who has recenly won a Best Folk Singer award from the BBC - an acclaimed new Folk singer and guitarist - an exciting new talent - a new sound really worth listening to. Do come along.
Saturday 7th April
Blue Soule - A new five piece Jazz/Blues/Soul band. Vocals/Guitar/Bass/Saxophone/Drums. Very much looking forward to hearing a fresh sound. Hope the customers will be as happy as they were last Saturday.
Friday 27th April
The return visit of Wille & The Bandits - they wowed us last time and I am sure they will wow us again - they are just brilliant
Friday 4th May
Hamer & Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band - a new band from the Plymouth area whose music sounds great - playing hot swinging Jazz in a style reminiscent of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France. Rosie Corlett singing in both English & French - Virtuoso violinist Mel Brindle (leader of the viola section for Plymouth Symphony Orchestra)brings the gypsy flavour - talented double bass player Rich Jones and its two guitarists Rich Hamer & Julian Isaacs who lend their name to the band.

Simon Kempston - One of Scotland's best young songwriters & leading fingerstyle guitarist.
Having performed to critical acclaim in esteemed venues and festivals all over Europe, Simon's recorded output has received rave reviews in the UK. An increditbly talented musician playing timeless melodies bearing lyrical ingenuity. Come and enjoy.

Makiwa - a local Afro- Reggae Band from Ashburton - hopefully they will get us into the holiday spirit as this is the big Jubilee Weekend

Stem Roach - return visit of this well known band from North Tawton playing rock covers and original music

Nell & Eye - the ever popular Johnny Fuller with his exceptional group of musicians to celebrate with us the Diamond Jubilee of our Queen

Claude Bourbon - Something different yet again - a classical guitarist to serenade us with his own style of music.
Saturday 7th July
Maggie Reeday has performed alongside household names such as Paul Daniels, Jim Davidson & Atomic Kitten. She has also appeared at a Royal Variety Show for the Queen Mother A highly recommended and talented singer coming to the Ring O' Bells for the first time
Friday 3rd August
The Wishbones - a young trio from the New Forest featuring a banjo, lap steel guitar and double base playing modern melodic blue grass music.
Saturday 4th August
De Fuego - Sensational Flamenco/Rumba Duo playing original Spanish Music @ all the Summer Festivals this year. Really looking forward to getting into the holiday spirit even if the sun doesn't shine.

Performing together for 10 years playing many festivals as well as local pub gigs. First time at the Ring O' Bells we are looking forward to a fun night .

The Karma Kanics
Not an ordinary covers band or a standard tribute - they walk the line between the two. Its like an original band but you already know the songs.They re-work The Beatles with unique interpretation and arrangements delivering energetic original performancesof the Fab Fours's original songs

Eat the Rich - Well known Exeter based band last played at the RIng O' Bells for Paddy's Day 2011. They are an awesome band playing Devon Folk-Punk. Foot tappingly brilliant. You can't afford to miss them.
Tuesday 11th December - Late Night Shopping - when your feet are tired and your bags are laden come inside and listen to
The FOS Brothers -fuse an eclectic mix of Floydie, Genesis, Horselips with traditional Irish sensibilities into something really different. Add drums, samples and percussion to soaring acoustic guitars and you have an act that will entrance any audience.
